“Knit with your heart when you knit.”

One of my favorite knitting projects is a sweater I knit for my granddaughter, Stella. It was a modified pattern knit with cotton/bamboo/silk yarn. Totally inappropriate for a baby sweater, but such a beautiful color. The yarn was a light blue like the sky on a perfect summer day. Stella seemed mildly interested when I gave it to her; she was only nine months old at the time! However, when I saw her for her first birthday three months later, she looked at me as I walked in the door of her house with her eyes growing wide. Then she ran from the room, and when she came back she was holding forth the sweater that I had knitted for her, saying, โ€œNana, Nana!โ€ as she proudly held it. My heart melted.

  1. That is so lovely ๐Ÿ™‚ I remember a similar occasion myself with my own grand daughter, the delight of grandchildren is not much spoken about. Its like being a mother without the responsibility. We are so blessed xxx
